Orleans Airport - The Louis Armstrong New
Orleans International Airport is located about 11
miles from the central business district of New Orleans.
Many airlines service this Airport and direct flights
are available from many major cities. Some of the
airlines that fly to this destination include Air
Canada, Delta, Continental, Northwest, AirTran, JetBlue
and many others aswell. With this choice of airlines
it is no wonder that millions of passengers fly in
and out of New Orleans all the time. But it also means
that there are many flight ticket options and you
stand a great chance of getting a cheap airfare.
There is 24-hour transportation available to get
you to and from The Louis Armstrong New Orleans
International Airport or to wherever you
need to go. With public transportation, shuttles or
taxis getting to or from the airport is easy.
There is also a heliport located in the central business
district. Helicopters are available
for charter if you want a really smooth ride to the
center. The heliport is located on top of the parking
garage at the Louisiana Superdome.

Airport replaced the old 1930’s lakefront airport

The E-2 bus goes from Entrance no seven on the upper
level and will bring you to Jefferson Parish or on
to New Orleans. The single fare is
from $1.10 to $2 With a transfer to a Westbank route
is $2.10 including the transfer fee.
The bus route goes every 15 to 20 minutes on weekdays
and every half hour at weekends. It has two transfer
stops to the E-8 route and to the E-5 route at Clearview
Parkway and at Causeway Blvd.
